RELIABILITY PROGRAM

Owner: Inspection Department

Responsibility: Static Equipment Inspectors

Purpose:  To ensure the safe and reliable operation of fired boilers and to maintain compliance with inspections mandated by applicable boiler and pressure vessel regulations.

Description:

Official Inspection Frequencies (per regulatory requirements):

• Maximum Internal Inspection Interval: 5 years
• Maximum External Inspection Interval: 1 year
• Results of official inspections will be recorded in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database

Department Internal Inspections:

• The inspection area will conduct independent Internal and External Inspections at the same frequency as the official inspections
• Inspections will be performed in accordance with Procedure MNT-INSP-007, including use of the provided checklist
• Results of internal inspections will be recorded in the CMMS database

Repair Management:

• Required repairs will be reviewed by the Area Inspector and/or Area Maintenance Engineer
• An SAP MI Notification will be issued to notify Maintenance of needed repairs, unless the repair is addressed during the current inspection outage
• Repairs completed during the outage will be documented and described in the inspection report
• All repairs will be performed in accordance with the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC)
• Management will be notified of any non-conformance with target completion dates or the scope of repairs

Boiler Feed Water Monitoring:

• Regulations require daily testing and documentation of Boiler Feed Water quality
• Operations personnel perform and document testing in the corresponding database
• Records are reviewed during each inspection
